SAVAGE REP INTERVIEW: Rianna (Combat Barbie)

We recently “sat down” with one of our new SAVTAC reps, U.S. Marine SGT Rianna Carpenter-Connor, also known as “Combat Barbie” (@riannacarpenter). Check out her interview and make sure to give her a follow!

Q: Where are you from?

A: I was born in a little farm town in the middle of California, called Kerman, where my family owned a few farms. There was only one stoplight, one grocery store… everybody knew everybody!

Q: What led you to join the Marine Corps, and when?

A: I joined the Marines in 2011 after graduating highschool. I grew up in a family of farmers, who instilled in me a tremendous sense of pride, passion, and most importantly, PATRIOTISM. It was my dream to serve my country - I felt it would be an honor to protect the very dirt I grew up on.

Q: Describe your job?

A: I currently serve as a Logistics Chief at the Parris Island Recruit Depot. I coordinate and manage all things, from government vehicle usage/maintenance and all squad-bay maintenance to any safety requirements concerning training.

Q: What led you to SavTac?

A: I found ST while scrolling through IG one day and the company really caught my eye. Then in January of this year, when I was shooting with a local photographer/Marine Vet, he brought the company up and explained how he knew the owner, and how much he respects the company. That conversation really got me excited to reach out and be a part of their awesome company!

Q: How do you believe you represent the SavTac brand?

A: I represent the ST brand in my own unique way. While I’m clearly very girly and feminine, I’m also a U.S. Marine, and I feel as though I’ve had success balancing those two opposite sides of me. I apply the same method to representing ST - bringing just the right amount of femininity to a “hard core” brand. I try my best to show women everywhere that you can still manage to be girly and feminine while working with/in a male-dominated organization.

Q: What does the “Stay Free” motto mean to you?

A: To me, the “Stay Free” motto means showing respect to all of the brave men and women who have fought for our many freedoms as Americans - and it means having the ability to stay true to who you are, and what you believe in.

Q: What are some of your favorite products?

A: My top three are #1: FULL AUTO coffee! Which I brew every morning to kick off my day. #2: The “American Savage” tank top - I get asked all the time where I got it from, because the design is so unique and awesome. #3: The “Patriot” hat - I wear it many days of the week - no matter if I’m driving, at the beach… wherever!

Q: Name a little-known fact about yourself.

A: In HS I won the Accounting/Math Decathlon against 10 other highschools in the region! Despite the blonde hair and big boobs, I’m not a “bimbo”! This blondie has a brain. I’m currently working to achieve my Bachelors degree in Mass Communications/Journalism so I can chase my dream of becoming a News Reporter.

Congratulations on your recent marriage, Rianna, and thank you for representing the ST brand. You do it so well! Semper Fi, and STAY FREE!
